tree1tree2 Tree: Target $33.   Lights: Target 5x $1.99 (100 mini lights).   Small White Pine Cone Ornaments: Target $5.   Large Gold Ball Ornaments: Target $15.  Gold Star Tree Topper: Target $10.  Pine Cones: Found Outside.  Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint: Amazon $3.   I had been lusting after artificial trees in every store I went in and any sales paper I came across for a while. After visiting one of my best friends, Monique and my God daughter Chloe, I learned that Target had all Christmas Trees on sale for half off! I thought, what?! I looked online and found pre lit and non lot artificial trees from $13 to $66! So I ran to Target to get my tree shopping started! So here’s where the big deciding factor comes in for me, and eventually for you. The pre-lit trees were at least $30 more than the non lit trees. I knew I wanted a fairly tall tree with some descent body to it. The 6ft trees were super cheap non lit, at an insanely low price of $13!!!! But at 6 feet the tree was significantly small in width. It was very slim, with no fluff to it at all. So I went up 1 foot and got a 7 foot non lit tree at $33!!!! This thing was nice and tall. Beefiness in all the right places!. Perfect for my bf and I’s first tree. Side note, this is secretly a big deal for me and I learned for him too. We both had never had a tree before so I was super psyched about the whole thing. He joked and dragged me away from the tree section every time we went into a store with Christmas stuff. SO I secretly went out, when I was supposed to be rushing home to cook dinner. Note to self, you cant just “stop in” Target and buy a Christmas Tree ‘real quick’. Lmbo. Any whoooo, lol. So I snagged the tree for $33, and just bought the lights (green wire, don’t mess around and get white wire lights with a green tree, lol) separately. I got the lights at Target too, which were on sale for only $1.99 (100 mini lights). These lights usually run around $4-6. More if you’re at other retailers. Then I saw the cutest little white coated sparkly baby pine cones, they were actually on sale for $3 at the time. That sparked the idea to get bigger pine cones and spray paint them gold to spread through out the tree. They came out perfect! I was so in love. I used the box that the tree came in to lay the pine cones in and spray painted them gold. Haha, I remember when I was kid I would hunt for really big crispy looking pine cones to step on so I could hear them crunch, lol. Now I’m a grown up spray painting them gold and using them for decoration, hahahahaaa.
